Honorary Consulate General of the Maldives in Germany

 

 

20th January 1983

Gottfried Mücke, the member of the Executive Board of Frankfurt Main Airport AG, is nominated the Honorary Consul of the Maldives.

15th March 1983

The German government agrees on the establishment of the consulate representation by giving the exequatur. The consulates` districts include the German Republic. The office was based in Frankfurt / Main.

13th of June 1986

The executive as honorary consulate officer was giving the status of Honorary Consulate General.
The district of the consulate was the whole German Republic. The representation is based in Bad Homburg. After the German reunion the Honorary Consulate General is also responsible for the new German provinces.

Award given to the Consul for his 25 years honorary office for the development of tourism on the Maldives.

In September 1997, President Mamoon Abdul Gayoom gives the certificate for his long work as honorary representative for the development of tourism on the Maldives to Gottfried Mücke. Next to the President you see the former Minister for Tourism, Hussain Zaki.

Gottfried Mücke - The Honorary Consul General

As a “Sunday child” Gottfried Mücke was born on 29th of May in the city of Jauer (today Polish Jawor)
Primary School in Jauer. After escape and banishment Secondary School in Löbau / Oberlausitz.
1950 – 1953: political prisoner in the prison of Bautzen
(rehabilitation on 26th of March, 2008)
1955: University entrance diploma at the Secondary School of Löbau
Academic Studies of Architecture at the University of Architectures and Building science in Weimar, pre-degree 
Due to political reasons relegation and lifetime prohibition to study on universities of the German Democratic Republic (DDR)
Escape to Western Germany
Prosecution of his studies at the Technical University of Stuttgart
Marriage with Renate Kriegel (2 children: Andrey 1963 and Kristiane 1965)
Diploma of Architecture in 1963
1963 – 1968: First Assistant at the professorship at the Technical University. Further intensive studies about airport planning
Small pilot licence / radio communication degree / flights for aerial pictures
1968: Management assistant at the Frankfurt Airport AG
1970: Authorised signatory and director of the airport planning department
1973 – 1987: Member of the Executive Board of Frankfurt Airport AG. Responsible for all management tasks, especially for planning, construction and computer systems. In addition to that he is responsible for the worldwide acting consultancy department Airconsult.
He is responsible for about 1300 employees. At the same time he is member of the board of directors for the company for airport marketing and for the Kassel airport. He owns an additional position as Honorary judge at the Hessen court, Kassel (6th senate).
1989: Head of Maltour GmbH (www.maltour.de), based in Bad Homburg
July 2004: his wife Renate died.
